Grading Policy
The Colonial School District Grading Scale is as follows:
E: Exceeding the Standard
Performance is exceptional or well beyond the skills and knowledge required to meet Delaware Standards. Students show mastery beyond what is expected at or above grade level. They exemplify by a willingness to go beyond the task. (Probes, Reading Projects, Reading Olympics, Brain Bubbles)
M: Meeting the Standard
Performance demonstrates that the student understands the fundamental skills and knowledge articulated in the Delaware State Standards. They show mastery of the standards at grade level.
N: Near the Standard
Performance on the fundamental skills and knowledge articulated in the Delaware State Standards is not yet sufficient to Meet the Standards. The student is making progress and is near the threshold of meeting grade level expectations.
B: Below the Standard
A student's performance shows a limited or incomplete understanding of the fundamental skills and knowledge articulated in the Delaware Standards. Students who are below standards may require additional instruction in order to meet grade level expectations.
